Steamboat Springs has long been known as “Ski Town USA” and is home today to more than 50 Olympians from summer and winter sports. If skiing or snowboarding in champagne powderTM is your thing- look no further! Mt. Werner has a vertical rise of more than 3,600 feet from the base to its 10,568 foot summit. There are 2,939 skiable acres accessed from 143 trails which are sure to please families, first-timers and veterans too! And, to make our guest’s experience even more enjoyable, the base is targeted for “urban renewal” with infrastructure upgrades in the base-area vicinity that are said to include a $4 million open-air gondola or “cabriolet” to whisk passengers from the Tennis Meadows day-skier parking lot to Gondola Square in only a couple of minutes! | What an absolutely beautiful place to be to witness the changing of the aspen leaves to a brilliant gold and red! This is a perfect time for a nice hike or a scenic drive. Fall is also the time when hunters from all over the world try their luck with one of the largest elk populations in the West. Elk, deer and antelope are plentiful throughout northwest Colorado and snowfall in October and November often makes tracking a bit easier for hunters. |
